A LS dated February 8th, 1865, in reference to an unknown request in which Tennyson replys “it is not in his power to comply” boldly signed in ink at the end with a wax seal next to his signature. Lord Alfred Tennyson, 1st Baron Tennyson, (6 August 1809 – 6 October 1892) was Poet Laureate of Great Britain and Ireland during much of Queen Victoria's reign and remains one of the most popular British poets
