TLS by this American illustrator and author, primarily of books for young people (1853–1911). This is a fascinating letter in which he explains and describes different aspects of his story the Garden behind the Moon and some of the symbolism within.Pyle's young son died while he was on a trip to Jamaica, before The Garden Behind the Moon was written; Pyle dedicated the book "to the Little Boy in the Moon Garden," and as the book suggests, the Moon Garden is the heavenly dwelling of those who die young.
