Scarce autograph letter signed by French naval officer and acclaimed author Pierre Loti (1850–1923), penned from Rochefort at "141 rue Chanzy." In this elegant handwritten letter, Loti expresses concern to a correspondent about an article he submitted for publication in Le Figaro, noting that despite a promise, it had not appeared as of the 23rd, having expected it to be published on the 19th. He politely requests confirmation of its receipt, fearing it may have been lost in transit. Boldly signed “P. Loti” at the close. A fine literary letter reflecting Loti’s engagement with French press and his sense of precision and concern over his published works.

Two pages, on a folded sheet of laid paper with black border. Very fine condition.

With One of a Kind Collectibles LOA.
