Lilly Langtry

Lillie Langtry signed ALS with cabinet card photograph. She pens the ALS to Dr. Hayward, thanking him and expressing her feelings of encouragement and resolve. In part: “Many thanks for sending me the enclosed. It is an immense pleasure to me to know that Lady Molesworth took so kindly to venturing to do what required all my courage… I have chosen from my point of view & feel that I have done rightly…” Boldly signed “Lillie Langtry” at the conclusion. The autograph letter measures 7" x 9" with expected folds and light handling but dark, clear writing. Accompanied by an original 4" x 6.5" cabinet card photograph of Langtry in costume as “Miss Hardcastle” in She Stoops to Conquer by the London Stereoscopic Company, with surface and edge wear. 

Lily Langtry (13 October 1853 – 12 February 1929), nicknamed "The Jersey Lily", was a British socialite, stage actress, and producer.
