Gene Tunney & Jack Dempsey

A color postcard depicting James Montgomery Flagg’s painting of the 1919 world championship bout between Jack Dempsey and Jess Willard, each 5.5 x 3.5, signed and inscribed on the reverse.

Also accompanied with an exceptional signed 5" x 3" card, "Gene Tunney", c. 1967. A superior example that is perfectly centered. American boxer best remembered for his stunning upset victory over Jack Dempsey to capture the Heavyweight Championship of the World, September 26, 1926. He defeated Dempsey again in 1927 and then retired from the ring one year later.
