The one-page brief on a lightly-lined sheet, written in a clerk’s hand, measures 8 x 6.25, dated “April Term 1832,” and regards the case of Metcalf vs. Bennett. The defendant, through his attorney Cooper, claims that he is “not guilty of the said supposed several trespasses,” as alleged in Lincoln’s endorsement.
