Ninth President of the United States (1841), an American military officer and politician, and the first president to die in office. Harrison died on his 32nd day in office of complications from pneumonia, serving the shortest tenure in United States presidential history. Manuscript Indian related ADS, signed at the conclusion "Wm H. Harrison A. d. C." one page 6.75 x 3.75, 1795. Military provision, Greeneville, August 5th 1795 In full: "The company will issue for the Miamis and El Rivers Indians one hundred and forty two Pounds of beef & flour, fifteen pounds of mutton & one hundred and ninety (?)gills of whisky. Central horizontal and vertical folds and a rough right edge, otherwise fine condition with an excellent, bold. Elegantly framed with portrait.signature. Harrison became aide-de-camp to General 'Mad Anthony' Wayne in 1793 and fought in the Indian Wars that began on June 30, 1794. He also took part in an expedition that erected Fort Recovery on the battlefield where St. Clair had been defeated two years earlier. In 1813, he defeated the British and Indians in the Battle of the Thames, in which Tecumseh was killed.
