Please note this is a secretarialy signed autograph on behalf of Keller.

A Helen Keller TLS, 1p, New York, November 29, 1957, on Keller's letterhead. Request to a Mr. Sprandel for a donation to help deaf-blind people. Signed at the bottom right corner. In fine condition, with fold marks.

Overcoming the adversity of being blind and deaf, those senses having been lost to an illness at just 19 months of age. Teaming up with Anne Sullivan for nearly half a century, Keller learned to communicate with the hearing and sighted world and went on to attend college at Radcliffe, funded by Henry Rogers, a friend of Samuel Clemens. As Keller's story spread, she became a celebrity, and her travels and experience made her determined to help others. She became involved in the suffrage struggle, she helped found the American Civil Liberties Union, she became a member and worked through the American Federation for the Blind after its establishment in 1921, in addition to many other associations.

With One of a Kind Collectibles LOA.
