Partly-printed DS as president, one page, 22 x 17, September 28, 1870. Four-language ship’s papers issued to James , "master or commander of the Ship called George (?)…lying at present in the port of New Bedford bound for Pacific Ocean and laden with Provisions, Utensils and Stores for a whaling voyage.” Signed in the fourth panel by Grant as president and countersigned by Secretary of State Hamilton Fish. White seal remains affixed to lower right,. In fine condition. Esquisetly framed and matted to a size of 39.5”X29”.
