Scientology founder’s classic tale from the Golden Age of Science Fiction

Pulp and science-fiction author (1911–1986) who became a lightning rod for controversy as the founder of the Church of Scientology. Signed book: Final Blackout. First edition. Providence, Rhode Island: Hadley Publishing, 1948. Hardcover with dustjacket, 5.5 x 7.75. Signed and inscribed in fountain pen opposite the half-title page, “To David Hey with my very best—L. Ron Hubbard.” Some mild edge toning to the pages and corner dings to the boards, otherwise fine condition. The dustjacket rates very good with a clipped corner, heaving toning and soiling, creasing, paper loss at the head and tail of the spine, and partial separation of the front cover along the spine.
