Joaquin Alberto Vargas, incredibly rare two Esquire Calendar Girl Pin-Up preliminary pencil drawings from the 1946 Esquire calendar. The Esquire Varga Girls of World War II are considered the most important of his career.The first drawing is for his February 1946, showing nude figure leaning back with a shear see through outfit. The other image of a side view of another one of his Vargas girls that looks to be the from the same years calendar 1946 and is the December image, with a ribbon in her hair nude. Both , initialed "A.V."; 4 3/4" h x 2 3/4" w (each view), 10 1/2" h x 13 3/4" w (frame) The lot includes an rare original calendar featuring 11 months which does have both months that are represented in the drawings.
