Autograph manuscript poem signed, “Roman?a,” by Radu D. Rosetti, dated 2 Februarie 1915. Autograph poem on a single sheet measuring 6.5 x 7.5 inches, written entirely in his hand in dark ink and comprising multiple stanzas of lyrical verse. Signed in pencil at the conclusion, “Radu D. Rosetti.” Mild toning and light edge wear consistent with age.
Composed during the pre–World War I period in Romania, this finished romantic lyric reflects Rosetti’s characteristic poetic voice—melodic, introspective, and rooted in early 20th-century Romanian literary tradition.
Radu D. Rosetti (1874–c. 1964) was a Romanian poet, playwright, short story writer, attorney, and social activist. The son of playwright Dimitrie Rosetti-Max and nephew of critic Titu Maiorescu, he was associated early with major literary figures such as Ion Luca Caragiale. A noted neoromantic poet who later turned to socially themed drama and prose, Rosetti remains an important figure in early modern Romanian letters.
