An incredible Pittsburgh Pirates 1967 Yearbook signed by baseball legends such as Roberto Clemente, Matty Alou, Maury Wills, William Mazeroski. The pages are crisp white and signed next to their photos and biographies. Some of the names within are, Coaches Alex Peter, Clyde, King Hal Smith. Players, Roberto Clemente (twice) once on his photo and biography and once in the front page with other Pirates. Stephen Blass, Elroy Leon, Woodrow Thompson, Alvin mcBean, Vernon Law, Peter Mikkelson, Bill O’Dell, Juan Pizarro, Dennis Ribant, Tommie Sisk, Bob Veale, Jerry May, James Ragliaroni, Gene Alley,, Jose Pagan, Manuel Mota, Kenneth Rodgers, Manuel Jimenez. The book is about 8.5" x 11" in size. In fine condition.

The Pirates scaled the peaks in 1960, after toiling in the second division throughout the 50s. The team's surprise pennant - capped by an even more shocking win over the powerful Yankees - was short-lived. The team's veterans (Law, Groat, Face) all soon broke down and the franchise declined for most of the 60s until its re-emergence in 1970. Due largely to the presence of great Roberto Clemente, the Pirates Yearbooks from the middle 50s are always in high demand.
Vintage Sports publications make an excellent reference guide for the casual or the fervent fan. Team yearbooks offer a great way to relive a team's past glories and heartbreaks. The books are chock filled with statistics, biographical information and photos. Whether reviewing the heroics of past Hall of Famers, or reviewing those 'On The Horizon' prospects, team yearbooks make a great gift.
Offered here the 1967 Pirates Yearbook. Dead even at 81-81 in 1967, the Bucs finished a disappointing 6th place. Bob Veale (16-8) provided the pitching highlights while the outfield of Clemente (.357), Matty Alou (.338), and Manny Mota (.321) provided the offense. Willie Stargell had an off-season with only 20 homers.
