Maya Angelou.” One of Angelou’s most acclaimed autobiographical works, chronicling her journey through motherhood, activism, and literary success during the civil rights era. Original dust jacket with light toning and minimal edge wear.

Accompanied by a first edition of Just Give Me a Cool Drink of Water ’fore I Diiie (Random House, 1971), Angelou’s landmark early poetry collection—nominated for the Pulitzer Prize—that established her as a powerful poetic voice. Original dust jacket with minor shelf wear.

Maya Angelou (born Marguerite Annie Johnson; April 4, 1928 – May 28, 2014) was an American memoirist, essayist, poet, and civil rights activist. She published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry, and is credited with a list of plays, movies, and television shows spanning over 50 years. She received dozens of awards and more than 50 honorary degrees. Angelou's series of seven autobiographies focus on her childhood and early adult experiences.
