Pierre-Auguste Renoir Autograph Manuscript Signed. Two pages of a bifolium, 4.5" x 7.25", no place; no date. Pencil notation on verso purports that the addressee is Paul Bérard. In French, untranslated. Signed, "Renoir."
Paul-Antoine Bérard (1833-1905) was one of Renoir's greatest benefactors. A wealthy banker, he was responsible for introducing Renoir to members of the Parisian salon society. The two men corresponded extensively up until Bérard's death.
Condition: Light scattered soiling and foxing. Pencil notations.
