Lou Hoover (First Lady) Signed White House Card

WILSON, EDITH BOLLING. First Lady. After her husband’s stroke, she played a large role in running the government. In effect, she acted as chief of staff and referred to herself as “Presidential Steward”. A letter of sympathy --ALS on White House letterhead dated “Sunday” with full Edith Bolling Wilson signature.

EISENHOWER, MAMIE. First Lady. LS on White House letterhead but dated Denver, Colorado, October 10, 1955, thanking a Mr. Burch for sending a book to the President. Bold full signature “Mamie Doud Eisenhower”

Bess Truman Signed WH Card, Engraving and letter (First Lady) TRUMAN, BESS. First Lady. (1) A White House card signed “Bess W. Truman”. (2) LS dated January 16, 1973, on her Independence, Missouri letterhead to Anne Arrowsmith, obviously a friend. A warm letter thanking Anne for her letter of sympathy and the kind things she said about Harry. “Thank you so much for thinking of Margaret and me.” Signed “Bess”. (3) An engraving of the White House boldly signed.

ROOSEVELT, EDITH. Theodore’s First lady. Free franked envelope addressed in her hand and postmarked Sep 6, 1938.

HAYES, LUCY M. First Lady. Known as “ Lemonade Lucy” for her objection to alcohol. Card signed “Lucy W. Hayes”,

CARTER, ROSALYNN. First Lady. Inauguration first-day cover signed. Also signed by daughter Amy Carter. Plus a signed White House card. NIXON, PATRICIA. First lady. White House letter November 9, 1973, to Martha Rountree, creator and first moderator of “Meet the Press”. “Your most thoughtful letter was especially meaningful to both of us! We shall always treasure its warm message of confidence and support ad we do your friendship. With gratitude for your prayers and with every best wish, Sincerely, Pat Nixon.” She added a handwritten postscript “Seeing both of you last evening was “pure pleasure!” With the envelope and a signed White House card.
