Edmund Gwenn (September 26, 1877 - September 6, 1959), classic English actor of the stage and screen, autographed vintage typed letter. In the letter, Gwenn expresses his apologies to the recipient for a delayed response, due to the recent Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor just a month prior. Gwenn also gives his regrets for the fact that his recent production, "The Wookey", will not be going on the road, following its original run in New York.

Gwenn writes the following: "Dear Mrs. Brennan, Please accept my apologies for the delay in answering your card. In the confusion and uncertainty caused to business by the Japanese attack, my correspondence has got very much in arrears..."

The letter is dated January 26, 1942, and measures approximately 6" x 8.25" inches in size. The signed letter is in good condition aside from some slight overall wrinkling and minor dings.
