Sepia photo of Horace Heidt (May 21, 1901–December 1, 1986) with a message in black fountain pen. Reads, Dear DeFanny and Kitty, hows chances on playing trombone and trumpet in the band. That’s a definite proposition with no cut weeks. Sincerely, Horace Heidt. Writing legible. Photo in very good condition except for small bend near right margin. Fans of Big Band music from the 1930s and 40s might have heard his radio shows on NBC and CBS for two decades. Such was his popularity that a 1941 movie was made out of his show Pot O' Gold. Photos does have pin holes in corners and stains in each corner as well as some missing borders, but still an unusual image.
