Series of 1899 1$ silver certificate. Large size. Size of paper currency before 1928 conversion to current size. Series produced: 03/24/1915 – 11/20/1919. Register of the Treasury Houston B. Teehee and Treasurer of the United States John Burke. Wrinkled Fair condition. Series produced in response to Bland-Ellison Act of 1878, in order to take silver off hands of western mines. Became subject of Cross of Gold speech by William Jennings Bryan
