ANS, in pencil, signed “Eds,” one page, 8.5 x 11 , no date. Brief note, in pencil, at the top of a TLS to Edison from employee P.J. Burns’s letter is a request for two weeks vacation that summer, and reads, in part: “I have had only one week of vacation since 1920, and if it meets with your approval, I should like to rest up for two weeks this Summer…The routine work in my office…could be take care of Mr. Skinner. He is a young man who was with the Musical Phonograph Division…he is familiar with our product and policies.” Reverse of letter bears pencil notations and sketch in an unknown hand. In very good condition, with intersecting folds, a few edge chips, and scattered soiling.
