Wilbur Wright at Le Mans archive consisting of a Collotype postcard signed Wilbur Wright measuring 5 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. Comes with four various sized gelatin silver print photographs depicting the Leon Bollet Factory. Souvenirs of Wilbur Wright from a worker at the Leon Bollet factory. Wilbur Wright chose the Hunaudieres Race track near Le Mans, southwest of Paris, as a location for his 1908 flight demonstration at the urging of French auto maker Leon Bollet. Because the flyer suffered extensive damage when inspected by French customs officers, Wright needed the factory to help him repair the plan, although he had to do most of the repair work himself. This lot depicts Wilbur Wrights time at the Bollet factory and Le Mans.
