This is accompanied with a ALS, Autographed letter signed to A Mr. Rogg. from new Rochelle New York dated December 20, 1934. "My Dear Mr Rogg, thank you for the favor of sending the James oh Lord’s story on the same day if you sent me his book the conquest of the north pole Hays book -The Conquest of the North Pole which is a solid piece of history which will do much to adjust the (?) continues. If you are interested in the polar issues you should also read Hay's earlier book Robert Edward Peary". Frederick Albert Cook (June 10, 1865 – August 5, 1940) was an American explorer, physician, and ethnographer who claimed to have reached the North Pole on April 21, 1908. That was nearly a year before Robert Peary, who similarly claimed to have reached the North Pole on April 6, 1909. Both men's accounts have been disputed ever since. His expedition discovered Meighen Island, the only discovery of an island in the North American Arctic by an expedition with a United States national on board.
