This olive and black certificate for five shares portrays the Reo logo as the central theme vignette. Ransom E. Olds was one of the earliest American automotive pioneers. He is credited with having built the first automobile factory. In 1899 he founded the Olds Motor Works. In 1904 he left the company and in 1905 formed the REO Motor Car Company. That venture produced high quality automobiles until 1936. A punch cancellation partially affects the R.E. Olds signature at lower right as company President. An important piece of automotive history.
