Christmas card featuring an infant Christ within embossed lettering on the front, measuring 6.25 x 8.25 open, signed inside below a printed holiday greeting in black felt tip, “The Anders (Bill + Val + 5).” Includes a TLS signed by his wife, Valerie, in part: “Bill has found his new job to be extremely interesting but also demanding. He spends quite a bit of time travelling around the country in connection with his areas of responsibility—environmental control systems and space radiation protection. Also, he has been on some very interesting field trips (Grand Canyon, Sunset Crater, Big Bend, Northern New Mexico, Los Alamos) which supplement the extensive geology course the group is receiving. They are concentrating on vulcanism and meteorite crators [sic] in order to better understand the surface features of the moon. The next trip will be in January to Mauna Loa on the island of Hawaii—I’m sure Bill will be able to work this one into his schedule! Other travels have included survival training (Panama, Reno), helicopter training (Pensacola), centrifuge training (Johnsonville, Pa.), etc. Though he’s been kept on the run you can be sure he has enjoyed every minute; except possibly the eating of freshly boiled iguana in the Panamanian jungle—one sample and he decided that he could go at least 3 days (the length of the jungle encampment) without food. When he’s not travelling or testing out the Gemini ECS, etc., he’s flying either the T-38, T-33, or H-13 for 30–40 hours/month. He’s looking forward to a check out in the H-19 and the arrival of the F4Bs.” In fine condition, with trivial edgewear and surface impressions to card. With One Of A Kind Collectibles COA.
