Commemorative medal issued for the Paris 1900 Exposition Universelle, which played host to that year's Summer Olympics. Bronze, 63 mm, 98 gm, by J. C. Chaplain. The front depicts the head of France in a Phrygian bonnet with the Paris skyline to the right; the reverse features the winged figure of Victory, holding a laurel wreath and a palm branch and carrying a winner on her back. Includes its "Exposition Universelle, 1900" cardboard box, which has a loose hinge and partial separations at corners.
