Willett was a Lt. Col. in the American Revolution who defeated Walter Butler and his Indian at Johnstown in 1781. Mayor of N.Y.C. endorsed and signed on back as Sheriff of N.Y.C., on verso of Ds 1page. oblong folio, 1786, of Robert Benson, Clerk Ordering Willett to assemble 12 free and lawful men of the city to act as a jury in the case and complaint. Small rectangular piece cut away from lower left margin. Endorsed and signed on the back by Willett.
