Signed by Albert Schweitzer with an inscription in German. UNIVERSITAS: A German Review of the Arts and Sciences Quarterly English Language Edition. Vol 2, No. 2 (1957). Consists of a single article which had recently appeared in the larger English-language version Universitas, Albert Schweitzer’s “The Problem of Ethics in the Development of Human Thought.” [6] leaves: 113-124pp, stapled. Front page of the article is signed and dated “ Albert Schweitzer/ Lambarene 18.4.1961.... Also a rare color photograph of Schweitzer, probably with a relative or possibly the recipient of the signed review. 3 ¾” x 5 5/8”. Schweitzer won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1952.
