Astor, John Jacob (176:3-1848):was a German-born American businessman, merchant, fur trader, and investor who was the first prominent member of the Astor family and the first multi-millionaire in the United States. He was the creator of the first trust in America. ADS, January 16, 1800. Astor writes receipt for one pound, six pence on 7"x:3" slip and signs with his customary paraph. Fine Condition
