Influential English art critic and writer (1819–1900). ALS signed “J.R.,” one page, 4.5 x 5.5, no date. It is reference about picking out a frame "must be no black in it" and a "shield with crosses that the public will not abide" and also mentions possibley (?Thomas) "Stothard" an artist who he apprecaited. Ruskin was the leading English art critic of the Victorian era, also an art patron, draughtsman, a prominent social thinker and philanthropist. Condition: slightly toned and repaired tear.
