Letter to W. Colson Leigh for the Leigh bureau Lecture company dated 9/7/63. in blue ball point pen in English, Ben-Gurion explains that at this time "he is engaged in writing a book and will have to stay in his kibbutz Sde Boker". Ben-Gurion was head of the World Zionist Organization in 1946. He largely led the struggle for an independent Jewish state in Palestine. On 14 May 1948, he formally proclaimed the establishment of the State of Israel, and was the first to sign the Israeli Declaration of Independence, which he had helped to write. He is known as "Israel's founding father.
