The autographs are in good condition, although some have been trimmed rather closely and irregularly cut. The Rothwell signature is missing a very small portion on the bottom of the w. and the beginning of the” Y” in Young. Please see photos on line for more detail.
James John "Gentleman Jim" Corbett (September 1, 1866 – February 18, 1933) was an American professional boxer and a former World Heavyweight Champion, best known as the man who defeated the great John L. Sullivan. In 1854, his father, Patrick Corbett, had emigrated from Ballycusheen, Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland to the US.
Young Corbett II (born William J. Rothwell on October 4, 1880 Denver, Colorado and died on April 10, 1927) is a boxer who held the world featherweight championship. He was He took the name "Young Corbett II" in honor of James J. Corbett, a heavyweight champion
Battling Nelson (Oscar Mathæus Nielsen) (June 5, 1882-February 7, 1954) was a Danish boxer who held the world lightweight championship on two separate occasions. He was nicknamed "the Durable Dane". Considered by some as one of the toughest boxers in history.
Jimmy Britt (October 5, 1879, in San Francisco, California – January 21, 1940) was a boxer from 1902 to 1909. He fought Joe Gans twice for the World lightweight title but lost both bouts.
