Uncut sheet of four “Baby Bonds” issued by the State of Louisiana during the 1870s. Each $5 bond is complete with five attached interest coupons, making for a total of twenty coupons on the sheet. These bonds were issued as part of Louisiana's post-Civil War debt and are notable for their detailed engravings and historic financial context.

The bonds feature a vignette of a young girl—hence the popular nickname "Baby Bonds"—and are signed by Treasurer Louis Amedy. Each certificate promises payment with interest to the bearer on January 1, 1886, and is printed with red serial numbers ranging from 40547 to 40550. The sheet is printed in black ink and displays intricate border detail and typography typical of 19th-century financial printing.

Uncirculated (CU) condition, showing no signs of folds or handling, with sharp corners and bright paper. Sheet dimensions are approximately 5.5" x 12.5"; framed to an overall size of 10.5" x 17.5".
