Benjamin Harrison Appointment

Partly-printed presidential appointment document signed by Benjamin Harrison as President, dated April 21, 1892. The document appoints Lafayette Smith of Stockton, Kansas, to the position of Register of the Land Office at Kirwin, Kansas. Boldly signed “Benj Harrison” at lower right, with countersignature by Secretary of the Interior John W. Noble. Embossed Department of the Interior seal remains intact at lower left. Document measures 15" x 17.5" and is handsomely presented in a neutral archival mat and gold-accented black frame to an overall size of 20.5" x 23.5".
