Theodore Roosevelt Marine Naval Appointment

Theodore Roosevelt signed naval appointment document dated June 24, 1907, appointing Edwin N. McClellan as "Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps." This official U.S. Navy commission is printed on vellum and bears a striking embossed dark blue Navy seal at lower left.

The document measures approximately 15.25" x 18.5" and is handsomely framed to 20" x 23.25". It is boldly signed "Theodore Roosevelt" at lower right, with additional countersignatures by Acting Secretary of the Navy W. H. Brownson and Col. A. H. Russell of the U.S. Marine Corps.

The piece displays scattered foxing, most notably to the upper left corner, and light toning consistent with age.
