George B. McClellan autograph letter signed, 1 page, 5.25" x 8", dated November 26, 1864. Writing during the Civil War after when McClellan was previously the commanding general of the United States Army. McClennan is thanking the writer T. Apoleon Cheney for a pamphlet he sent. He also writes about Cheney's proposal to write about the present war and writes " Although it will perhaps be impossible to do full justice to the subject until the end is reached and the passions of the hour have measurably subsided.", signed at the conclusion, “Geo. B. McClellan.” In fine condition with light toning and intersecting mailing folds.
