Dear Sir,
Your kind letter of the 8th has only reached me today, with its welcome. Allow me to thank you for your generous appreciation of my brother’s services. I am much gratified also by your tribute to my brother Nelson. He deserves your praise.
It would give me pleasure to see you in your pleasant home. But I fear that satisfaction must not be anticipated.
Enclosed you will find the photograph you courteously asked for.
With much respect
Yours truly,
S. P. Chase
