James Monroe & John Quincy Adams:A ship’s passport signed by two presidents – Adams as Secretary of State – and dated Sept. 21, 1824. With paper seal. Top is scalloped so that Barbary Coast officials who held the piece that had been cut out could authenticate the document. On parchment. Monroe’s signature is somewhat faded.
