Rare Autograph Auction Featuring Edison's Patent

An offset print after James McNeill Whistler (American, 1834-1903), pencil-signed by Whistler with the artist's butterfly paraph, and pencil-titled in the artist's hand "Arrangement in Grey & Black / Portrait of the painter's mother --" (now ubiquitously known as "Whistler's Mother").
The mat sight measures 7 1/2" x 8", and the gilt frame measures 13" x 12 5/8".
Not removed from the frame. Some toning evident on mat, as well as water damage to the top right corner. The frame has some losses.
