Georgia O'Keeffe Signed Exhibition Card Reproducing Her Iconic "The White Flower," Whitney Museum
Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986), whose monumental close-up flower paintings redefined American modernism, signed this exhibition card reproducing one of her most celebrated works. The card presents a color reproduction of "The White Flower" (oil, 1931), held in the collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art, with O'Keeffe's bold signature "Georgia O'Keeffe" in blue ink on the white border below. The reverse carries the printed Whitney Museum identification and the Arthur Jaffe Heliochrome Co. imprint.
O'Keeffe's flower paintings remain among the most recognizable images in the history of American art, and signed examples on cards reproducing her own works are consistently sought by collectors. The Whitney provenance of the pictured work adds an additional layer of institutional significance.
