Andrew Jackson: ADS signed twice by the president. On an address leaf sent by the Navy Department to the President of the United States, Jackson has penned: “Capt. Simonton will please transmit the enclosed to Mr. Vincent Gray to be handed to his son. Andrew Jackson October 25th 1829.” On the verso Jackson wrote his franking signature and the address “Captain Simonton, Washington City.” With remnants of a red seal.
