Alexandre Dumas, autograph letter signed “Alex. Dumas,” one page, 7.25" x 9.5". Written in French to his friend Paul Foucher. Expected folds with some scattered toning and light mounting traces to the verso, otherwise fine. In full (translated):
“My dear Paul, Being obliged to make corrections this evening in the 5th Act of Kean, I will ask you to change our meeting to such day of next week as will please you. Write on the back of this slip your choice and I will look out for it. Yours, Alex. Dumas.”

Alexandre Dumas (24 July 1802 – 5 December 1870) was a French novelist and playwright. His works have been translated into many languages, and he is one of the most widely read French authors. Many of his historical novels of adventure were originally published as serials, including The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers.
