Fantastic Inventory ledger belonging to Rhode Island signer of the Declaration of Independence William Ellery, signed a total of 12 times within, "Wm. Ellery, Collector," approximately 42 pages, 13.5 x 8.25, containing numerous abstracts of "Bounty on dried and pickled fish, and salted provisions exported from the District of Newport," dated between 1790 and 1799. The ledger makes note of various vessels and their destinations, with goods including dried fish, pickles, and sundry other provisions. Destinations primarily include the French and Dutch West Indies, Hispaniola, St. Croix, Havana, Turks Islands, and Jamaica. In very good condition, with heavy damp staining and toning affecting the text and some of the signature.
