Vintage black and white photo picturing Madge Kennedy and Gregory Kelly starring in a 1920's play ("Badges") signed and personalized by both in black fountain pen signatures. The photo exhibits heavy wear with scattered creases, Chipping, and tears.
Madge Kennedy (April 19, 1891 – June 9, 1987) was a stage, film and TV actress whose career began as a stage actress in 1912 and flourished in motion pictures during the silent film era. In 1921, journalist Heywood Broun described her as "the best farce actress in New York".
George is remembered as the star of George S. Kaufman's play "The Butter and the Egg Man," in which he starred both on Broadway and on tour, and was known for the films The Show-Off (1926) and Manhattan (1924). Kelly was the first husband of actress Ruth Gordon. He died of a heart attack at the age of 36 in 1927.
