Scallop-top ship’s pass issued for “Ship Elizabeth, Thomas C. Stevens master or commander…mounted with no guns navigated with eleven men To Pass with her Company Passengers Goods and Merchandize without any hinderance seisure or molestation.” Prominently signed at the conclusion by President Monroe and countersigned by Secretary of State John Quincy Adams. The crisply embossed paper seal affixed to the lower left remains entirely intact. fine condition. An exceedingly desirable double-signed presidential document.
