LYDIA HUNTLEY SIGOURNEY (1791-1865). American poet and writer of which Letters to Young Ladies (1833) is her most popular prose work. She published many collections of her poems, death and piety being her favorite subjects. Large full signature, boldly penned on stationery leaf, 5"x8", adding " with good wishes, Hartford Connt. June 16th 1863." accompanied with another signature dated 1858. Fine example. Accompanied by very nice bookplate full-length portrait, 7½"x8" overall.

Agnes Strickland autograph, she wrote " my autograph Agnes Strickland Historian of the queens of England and the queens of Stratford" and then there’s another signature Agnes strict on September 24, 1843.

One more fine autograph on an off white album sheet of the author Adeline Whitney. Adeline Dutton Train Whitney (pen name, A. D. T. Whitney; September 15, 1824 – March 20, 1906) was an American poet and prolific writer, who published more than 20 books for girls. Her books expressed a traditional view of women's roles and were popular throughout her life.
