ELLERY, William (1727-1820), ADS, Newport, 8 Oct, 1805. Receipt for monies received by Ellery from Benjamin Bowers from proceeds of an auction sale of the personal effects of a John Wood, who died on the Sloop Louisa on his way from Jamaica to Charleston. The proceeds are to be used for his family through the Orphan court. Ellery signed the Declaration of Independence as a representative from Rhode Island. in fine condition, written on a page that on the verso has A Commentary on the Revelation of St John by Bryce Johnston.
