Wild West: Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid Reward Broadside/Circular.

The exploits of western train robbers Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid are all well-known to us due to the popular film of the same name and now even the popular video Game Red Dawn Redemption 2. The "Wild Bunch Gang" robbed banks and trains in Wyoming and retreated to their "Hole-in-the-Wall" hideout.

In 1901, due to the famous photograph also being offered in this same auction the Pinkerton detectives were able to create a Reward Broadside/Circular and were hot on their trail. This is the actual original Reward Circular now showing and positively identifying both George Parker (Butch Cassidy) and Harry Longbaugh (a.k.a., the Kid) which they previously did not have any known photographs of.

Since the Pinkertons were now in hot pursuit with their images now published through the west, both Butch Cassidy and Sundance Kid went to Argentina with their accomplice and girlfriend Etta Place. Continuing along the "primrose path", they were eventually believed to be killed by Bolivian authorities in 1908, or so the legend goes.

This 17" x 11" Pinkerton reward broadside offers $2,000 reward in total, and a $1000 for each robber and 25% for any money recovered from the robberies, for the likes of George Parker (a.k.a., Butch Cassidy) and Harry Longbaugh (a.k.a., the Kid). The broadside is in fine condition, with minor damp stains and separation at the folds. This is a very rare original broadside of the last true bank robbers and outlaws of the west!
