Manuscript DS as president, signed “R. B. Hayes,” one page both sides, 10.5 x 15.5, November 27, 1880. Pardon document, in part: “Whereas William Tippett on conviction of Assault and was sentenced by a police court in the District of Columbia…be it known, that I, Rutherford B. Hayes, President of the United States...do hereby grant to the said William Tippett, a full and unconditional pardon.” Neatly signed at the conclusion by President Hayes and countersigned by Secretary of State William Evarts. The crisp white paper seal affixed to the left side remains fully intact. In very good condition
