LESLIE WALTER: (1607-1667) Scottish Field Marshal and diplomat, a Count of the Holy Roman Empire who served as Imperial Ambassador to Naples, Rome in 1645 and to Constantinople in 1665-66. Letter signed, in Latin, 2 pages (11 1/4 x 7 3/4 in.; 286 x 197 mm), Poland, 3 April 1650; one dark stain with worming affecting nine words, dustsoiled on outer folds. This field-marshal and diplomatist refers to the Kingdom of Hungary in his report.
