1784 dated document signed by Marinus Willett as sheriff that is ordering an arrest. Separated on 1 vertical fold, with loss of 1 word at top center. Signatures not affected. Yellowing with bold ink and legible writing. Both sides are about 4.5" x 7". From the Dr. John K. Lattimer Collection.

Marinus Willett (July 31, 1740 – August 22, 1830) was an American military officer, politician and merchant who served as the mayor of New York City from 1807 to 1808. Willett is best known for his actions during the American Revolution, where he served as an important Patriot leader in colonial New York before enlisting in the Continental Army and serving in numerous campaigns in the Revolutionary War throughout the Northwest.
